SSL at Unify 2026

How do you keep billions of devices trustworthy as the connected ecosystem scales?

That question is exactly what brings SSL to Austin, Texas, from June 16-18 for Unify 2026, the premier public event hosted by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). SSL is a co-sponsor of this year’s conference alongside partner Keyfactor, and a six-person team will be on the ground representing SSL across compliance, sales, product, and leadership, including Dom Guinard, Director of Product – Content Authenticity and IoT, and Leo Grove, President and CEO.

Other attendees from SSL include:

Dustin Ward, EVP of Technology
Luis Cervantes, Compliance Officer and Security Auditor
Rebecca Kelly, Compliance Officer and Security Auditor
Brian Kent, Commercial Account Executive

About Unify

Unify was created to spotlight the power and potential of open standards in the Internet of Things. The 2026 edition brings together more than 50 speakers and 20-plus sessions across two days, with keynotes, panels, and live interoperability demos.

This year’s agenda reflects a significant shift in IoT maturity. The conversations have moved past “why open standards?” and into the harder operational territory of how to implement them securely, how to scale them beyond the smart home, and how to align global ecosystems around common security and certification frameworks.

What SSL Brings to Unify

SSL is one of the official providers of Matter certificates, issuing both Product Attestation Intermediate (PAI) certificates and Device Attestation Certificates (DACs) that form the trust foundation of the Matter standard. At Unify, SSL will showcase how device makers and brands can leverage its solutions to secure and authenticate their products within the Matter ecosystem.

Dom Guinard shared his perspective ahead of the event:

“Matter is on the rise. At CES this year, the Matter smart home standard matured significantly, with a heavy emphasis on Matter over Thread, AI integration, and expanded product categories. We expect that trend to continue at Unify. As the ecosystem matures, suitable security stacks will be vital. SSL is one of the official providers of Matter certificates, and our team looks forward to showcasing how brands can leverage our solutions to secure and authenticate IoT devices.”

A centerpiece of SSL’s presence will be its joint demonstration with Keyfactor. The two companies have combined their capabilities to deliver a turnkey Matter PAI and DAC certificate solution, bringing together Keyfactor’s leading PKI software platform and SSL’s role as a trusted Certificate Authority. For device manufacturers navigating the Matter certification process, that combination simplifies one of the most technically demanding parts of the journey.

Themes That Define This Year’s Event

Among the Unify 2026 agenda, several themes stand out:

Security by design – Several prominent sessions frame security not as a feature but as a foundation, exploring how the CSA embeds security principles across Matter, Zigbee, and Aliro from the start. This maps directly to what SSL provides: a certificate-based device identity built in at the manufacturing stage.

Certification as trust infrastructure – Multiple sessions address certification as the bridge between product development and real-world interoperability. This theme makes clear that certification is not just a compliance checkbox but the mechanism through which consumer trust and ecosystem credibility are established.

Scale beyond the smart home – A recurring thread throughout the agenda is the challenge of taking IoT connectivity from residential deployments into commercial buildings, MDUs, campuses, and city-scale environments. As device density grows and deployments become more complex, robust certificate lifecycle management becomes more critical, not less.

Global alignment around open standards – Panelists from across Asia, Europe, and the Americas will examine why adoption of open standards varies across markets and what it takes to accelerate convergence: regulatory readiness and policy alignment run as subtexts throughout numerous sessions.

Connect With the SSL Team

If you’re attending Unify, we want to connect with you. Whether you are a device manufacturer exploring Matter certification for the first time, an enterprise evaluating your IoT security stack, or a standards contributor considering the long-term PKI architecture for connected products, we’re ready to provide our expertise and have those discussions with your team.

Reach out ahead of the event to schedule time with Dom (or anyone else from the SSL team), or find us on the expo floor in Austin.
